Dear Parent,
Roanoke County schools, in partnership with the Roanoke Symphony, are
please to be offering our after school violin class for 4th and 5th
graders. We are also continuing with our experienced player from previous
years. I am excited to announce that our new teacher this year is Nicole
Paglialonga. Mrs. Paglialonga comes to us from Florida where she was involved
professionally as a violinist and instructor.
We will be offering this after school
strings class at the Burton Center for Arts and Technology. We are planning on offering beginning
violin classes as well as continuing with intermediate classes. The classes
will be held on Fridays this year and will be scheduled as follows:
Friday
3:00-4:00 pm beginner violin
Friday: 4:00-5:00 pm 2nd year players
Friday 5:00-6:00 Intermediate players
3rd and 4th year players
There is no fee for the class instruction. However, students and parents will be
responsible for securing their own instruments, music books, and transportation
to and from the classes.
The method book that will be used for the class is “All for Strings”
published by Shar music. This book
can be ordered on line at http://www.sharmusic.com/ or at local music
stores. Students should have their
book and violin by their first class.
These classes will meet every Friday for the remainder of the school
year with the exception of holidays.
You will receive a schedule.
We are planning an informational
meeting, at 7:00 pm, October 14 at the Burton Center for Arts and Technology
for all interested students and their parents. Please plan on attending this meeting if you wish for
your child to participate. At this meeting you will get the
chance to ask any questions that you may have. We will also address how to fit
and secure a violin for your child.
If you have any questions, please do
not hesitate to call. Or send an email
Sincerely,
